VETERINARY ULTRASOUND FROM YOUR ANGLE, SERIES 5
For the final instalment of our mini-series we will be taking a look at Amy Stirland, and how she employs the use of veterinary ultrasound in her working life. Amy and her fiancée, Richard work with the British Bulldog and Dogue de Bordeaux breed, both through breeding and showing. Amy’s talents don’t end there, with artificial insemination, microchipping, and of course, veterinary ultrasound during pregnancy under her belt. If you would like to know more about microchipping, you can visit the relevant section on our website by clicking here. It is no wonder then that these serious dog-lovers were given the Kennel Club affix of Alfarsangels.
Like so many of our previous participants in this mini-series, Amy has been ultrasound-trained via the VIS training courses and uses the KX5600v scanner to scan not only dogs, but also cats and skunks! Skunks were a new experience for her, but it turned out to be a positive one in the end, with Amy describing them as ‘cute and interesting’. Although Amy already realises the variety of functions and benefits associated with this particular scanner, if you would like to learn more about the KX5600v machine please click here. She also explains how carrying out ultrasonography allows her clients to plan for the future and adapt to their impending new arrivals, whilst simultaneously providing the chance for any issues to be identified. As a result, it is therefore possible for the most suitable plans of action to be put into place. Amy hopes to expand her dog business even further in the years to come whilst also offering a grooming service – dogs in her area will never have had it so good, and are sure to be well looked after!
